My second and third graders were both learning about Henri Matisse and Fauvism at the same time. In third grade, we learned about positive and negative shape and created the wallpaper design and dandelions using both. This project heavily focused on collage as a way to create art, which Matisse was known for. We also used Cat With Red Fish as inspiration for our setting.
